To The Mom Who Feels Forgotten

I am thrilled to welcome Kayse Pratt to my blog today! She is one of the authors working with my agent’s company, and she has an amazing new ebook called Undivided Mom. I don’t know about you, but I definitely need to read this book!

Kayse was kind enough to share an excerpt from her book with us today, so I know you’ll enjoy this post. (She’s also giving all of my readers a discount on the book, so keep reading!)

Without further ado…here’s Kayse…

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Fear not, you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7

Motherhood can be very lonely. In the midst of managing scraped knees, dirty diapers, and dinner on the table (must they eat every night??), it’s easy to feel like we’ve been forgotten.

You were a daughter before you were a mom. A much-treasured daughter of the King. He saw you, ministered to you, and walked with you through life.

He led you to this place. And He has not deserted you now. You are still a much-treasured daughter of the King! He loves you, values you, and knows you so intimately that He can tell you the number of hairs on your head.

Now, I love my daughter, but count the hairs on her head? That I have not done.

Do you understand how much He loves you? I know you spend your days tending to the needs of others. But there is One who has given His life to tend to your needs. You are not forgotten.

He sees you, waking up for the zillionth time to find the bunny that she dropped on the floor in her sleep, and now can’t sleep without. He sees you, bending down to talk to him eye-to-eye, swallowing your impatience and breathing out gentleness. He sees you, living out the calling He’s given you. He values every effort you put in, and He knows your heart.

You are not forgotten, momma. In fact, you have a divine purpose. To be charged with the lives of little ones, called to raise them to know the King who values them too? I don’t know that there’s a higher calling. Or a harder one.

So lean into Him. Gain strength, knowing He cherishes you and believes that you can accomplish this task. Know that you are of great value in the eyes of your Creator. Your Savior. The one who has given you all you need – including His very self! – to fulfill the calling of being an Undivided Mom.

Do you struggle with feeling forgotten? How does the truth that God sees you change the way you approach your calling to be a mom?
