Changing Our Thoughts to Change Our Lives

“How we think shapes how we live.” Jennie Allen, Get Out of Your Head

Over the past few weeks, I’ve realized something.

I want to be a THERMOSTAT in my home, but most of the time, I’m a THERMOMETER instead.

I know, weird analogy. But stick with me.

I want to be like a thermostat, staying true to my beliefs and feelings no matter what’s happening around me.

But the truth is, most of the time, I’m more like a thermometer. I tend to change how I feel and act based on what’s going on around me, especially when it comes to my kids and the people I’m with.

When they’re dysregulated, I become dysregulated.

When they’re upset, I become upset.

Instead of spreading MY CALM to them, I take THEIR CHAOS as my own.

Not something I’m proud of, but I’m just being honest today.

Jennie Allen Quote- How we think shapes how we live.

And I want things to change.

I want to be calm, no matter how those around me are feeling. I want to be the CALM in their CHAOS.

Last week, I checked out the book Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen.

And it’s all about how our mindset – what we think about – affects our behavior and our life.

I’m starting on a journey, and I’d love for you to join me because I truly believe it can bring about positive transformation in our lives.

Our thoughts are powerful.

Our attitudes and reactions to life’s challenges are deeply influenced by the way we think.

And when we shift our perspectives -when we change our thoughts – THAT’S when we can finally learn how to be THERMOSTATS.

Not changing because of our circumstances but instead standing firm no matter what’s going on around us.

And so, I invite you to embark on this journey with me over the next few weeks.

Together, we’ll dive into practical strategies to cultivate a more positive and empowering mindset, especially in the face of life’s everyday challenges.

Here’s how you can join me:
